I VOTED for BARACK OBAMA
Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
I woke up this morning in the Battleground Keystone State of Pennsylvania at 6:40am, I rolled over thinking that god had brought us to this day. I smiled, if anyone knows me, I don’t like to wake up that early.
But I put Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” on repeat, I put on a tie that my students bought for me this past summer, and my Alpha Phi Alpha jacket. My rationale was that I was voting not only for my future but the future of my students. Gentleman like Thurgood Marshall helped to integrate the schools, while gentleman like MLK helped to integrate the people so I represented that legacy through my fraternity jacket.
I urge everyone to get out and vote, come experience the joy of having a stake in changing our FUTURE.
