Nader says Obama “Talking White”

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Ok first, this is a message to all the young black males and females in America who struggle when their class mates say that they are talking white because they choose to speak proper English.

This fallacy has gone too far, in fact there is nothing “white” about being an articulate and intelligent individual. And now we have to hear these same type of attacks from Presidential hopefuls who know they have no chance in hel of ever becomig the President of these United States.

I am sad that Cornell West once endorsed your run Mr. Nader for you are the epitome of ignorance and you have taken upon yourself to promote discension and misunderstanding throughout the land with your careless remarks.

Recently Nader said, “”There’s only one thing different about Barack Obama when it comes to being a Democratic presidential candidate. He’s half African-American,” Nader told the paper in comments published Tuesday. “Whether that will make any difference, I don’t know. I haven’t heard him have a strong crackdown on economic exploitation in the ghettos. Payday loans, predatory lending, asbestos, lead. What’s keeping him from doing that? Is it because he wants to talk white? He doesn’t want to appear like Jesse Jackson? We’ll see all that play out in the next few months and if he gets elected afterwards.”

So to speak to blacks or about black issues is only to speak about what is going on in the ghettos. Are both whites, blacks and latinos alike not the victims of predatory lending, payday loans, asbestos and lead.

And what is this “talking white” you speak of. Barack Obama often speaks of changing politics, changing America and creating a better world for people of all ethnicities to live in. Is that talking white Mr. Nader. Deep down Nader has the same white supremacist attitude that others before him have had and will inject race into this equation or election whichever you want to call it whenever he can.

I just wonder how does it feel to go down in history as the quintiessential loser. As the man who helped put George Bush in office, who has destroyed the reputation of America and kept us in a bloody war with Iraq where Iraqi officials kill U.S. troops.

Beat it Ralph Nader!

Officials: Iraqi councilman kills U.S. soldiers

Do we really need any other reason to get the hell out of Iraq. The Iraqi’s do not respect us and we continue to lose valuable American lives. Please someone tell me why this Iraqi official fired upon U.S. Troops.

While we may not like our government at times, and we may not like the strategies that they employ we must support our troops. Innocent men and women are dying all in the name of weapons of mass destruction that never existed. The Iraqi’s are tired of us being there, we really need to stop trying to police the world and spend some of our tax dollars on making it safer here at home. I’M DISGUSTED!

John McCain says it’s tough to be Proud of America

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

So when John McCain says its tough to be prod of America there is no backlash but when Michelle Obama makes a similar statement the world is up in arms. This is the type of hypocrisy that angers me. Now I know that John McCain did not mean anything unpatriotic by his statements and how they can be viewed out of context. I understand this very much but what I do not understand is why it is so easy to afford him this understanding and not Mrs. Obama for her statements. We all have to do a better job at being objective, and stop hanging onto the trivial things and address what will make this country a better country.

McCain doesn’t pick up on Michelle Obama joke

So a man finally got a question into McCain and he had a very different sort of question.

The questioner noted that he had been educated at Princeton and Harvard and made more than $300,000 a year.

“How can I be proud of my country?” he asked.

Get it — he was mocking Michelle Obama and her statement earlier this year that her husband had for the first time in her life made her proud of her country.

Well, McCain either missed the joke or decided to ignore it and answer the question literally. I think it was the former because the individual asking the question had a thick accent that sounded to be either Indian or Pakistani, perhaps suggesting to McCain a recent immigrant grappling with America’s image abroad.

“I’ll admit to you that it’s tough, it’s tough in some respects,” McCain said, seeming to lend credence to Michelle Obama’s observation.

McCain said America needed to be “more humble, more inclusive.”

He observed that one of the ways to be proud of the country was to look at our history — and the sacrifices U.S. troops have made abroad.

McCain let his questioner follow up and the individual repeated, but didn’t clarify, his line.

In closing, McCain said he was proud of America in part “because of you and what you’ve been able to achieve and accomplish.”

Then the LORD said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have all the people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in.” Joshua 6: 2-5

Happy Memorial Day, I just got back from the local parade in my town where there was a nice sound off for our soldiers, the ones living and those who have had an untimely demise. I wound up there because my little sister is in the marching band, sweet little girl, she’s growing so big. However, hearing the horns made me think of our soldiers fighting at war right now. My cousin has been in Iraq for the past however many moths and just this past Friday my God Sister told me that her orders have her leaving for Iraq soon. Immediately, I was upset by this but after hearing her energy I thought that it is just best for me to support her and pray for her.

So as I read the scripture above and I think of all of the family members and friends that we have at war I ask myself where are our priests? Where are our horns, where is our protection, where is the support for our troops in the name of our Lord. I know often my disdain with the government and our rationale for being at war makes me angry with the military but I recognize that this is misplaced anger. I look at the story of Jericho and it makes me want to support our troops even more, makes me think that we as a community of Christians we should be as supportive of the troops as possible to ensure that they come to a victory and come home safely. It is only through God’s will that our families and friends will be safe so I believe we must invoke the spirit of the days spoken of in the scripture and protect our troops with the armor of God. Peace and Grace be unto you.

No matter how long the night, the day is sure to come.

Is Obama too GQ for America

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Someone please tell me how with this country having a struggling economy, thousands of troops dying in an unjust war, and a recent verdict in NY that allows the police to legally kill young black males where these journalists get there moronic questions from?

Pardon me

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6: 10-12

A close friend of mine hit me up yesterday and said “can the next pardon me be about how much the devil is a hater”? To which my response was “well you know he’s a hater, he hates on me all the time; you just gotta ignore that dude”! But we can’t just ignore the devil; we cant feed his power either because he is a powerful being. Just look at all the evil and hurt in the world! What we must do is what the word above says; be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. While attending a church in Carol City, Florida; a section of Miami, the pastor gave three consecutive sermons about the full armor of God. The way he broke it down was so artful, essentially he spoke of our faith being the strongest part of this armor. We need this armor of God to protect us from the many ills of the world.

Look around at all the senseless killings, the molestation of our children, raping of our women; these are all acts of the devil, inspired by his evil schemes to corrupt us. The political climate; people rioting in Haiti, all across America people are losing their homes; the state of people’s lives is becoming chaotic. How many times have you heard; if your God is so good than why would he let you live like this. The movie “The Devil’s Advocate” displayed this lovely, they questioned our minds about the ills of this world and then threw it back on God as to say he was not protecting us, so he must not exist. That faith and the true armor of the Lord tells us this is not so. Don’t be fooled though, it should tell you something else. Its a war going on outside; the devil’s troops are strong in their conviction to collapse our faith, our good spirit and energy. Look at the spread of disease, drug epidemics, families turning on families. The media turning on the church; the church turning on the church and being more involved with numbers than wisdom and the word. You see it in your daily life, you find yourself struggling despite the fact that you believe you are doing right and being faithful to the Lord. These are all acts of the devil that we can not ignore. We have to suit up; get together and fight for our happiness, for the betterment of our families. We serve a higher power, we are playing for the right team so let’s acknowledge that we have some haters but be wise enough to know that we are blessed with the best protection and knowledge to defeat such clowns. Peace and Grace be unto you!
