Mirror Jam of the Day
Tuesday, June 24th, 2008Pardon me
Tuesday, June 24th, 2008We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busy bodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right. If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of him. Do not associate with him, in order that he may feel ashamed. Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother. 2 Thessalonians 3: 11 - 15
Point of clarity because a few people got at me yesterday. I was not saying that V Cape The legend does not go to church, I was saying he doesn’t call much. Negative minds, LOL! But that leads us right into today’s C. The Confronter! The Confronter is a very crucial person in our lives because they hold mirrors up to our actions. They hold these mirrors and they are not afraid to tell us what it is that we are doing wrong in our lives. We all need a reality check and we all need someone who is not overly critical however they are not afraid to be brutally honest with us about our short comings. My moms is my Confronter. And when she goes in, man it could be over the phone, in person either way she is going to speak her mind. But it’s with love and it is only because our Confronters see our true potential and wish to see us reach that goal.
Clearly our creator is our Confronter as well. In fact since he knows everything that we have done and how we are going to play it out. He holds possibly the largest mirror up before us. You can fool everyone but it is impossible to fool God. In the above scripture he is confronting us on being idle. He tells others to not even associate with us because of our actions, so that we know that what we are doing is not approved of. But notice the love he speaks with. Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother. Those words right there show that we have been confronted, we know right from wrong and if we continue to act in such a way we shall be ignored. But not hated, we should be warned as a brother because we are family and our Confronter only wants the best for us. If that makes sense. Take time in understanding the Confronter in your life, they are only there because they want to make you better. Peace and Grace be unto you!
Dreams do come true. First by prayer, second by determination, and third by education with action.
Quote of the Day

I used to live in a room full of mirrors; all I could see was me. I take my spirit and I crash my mirrors, now the whole world is here for me to see. - Jimi Hendrix
Pardon me
Wednesday, May 14th, 2008even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139: 10-14
It’s funny I would stumble upon this verse. I feel like this is the basis for how I feel about my relationship with God. You know how they say you reap what you sow, that’s why I am amazed at the type of relationship God and I have. He doesn’t let me get away with anything! If I do something incorrect, he gets at me immediately and I just sit back like “wow, he’s good, I thought I could get away with that one.” Of course sometimes I get caught up watching what others do, how they hurt people and continue to press on and be happy. However, I know it is not my place to judge their actions and I know that by him showing his disapproval of my actions he is only attempting to make me wiser. Everything that is done in the dark will surely come to the light, so I am thankful that I catch the jack immediately rather than way down the line.
The words are so genuine; “for you created my inmost being, you knit me together”. God is our creator, the masterpiece that you see in front of your mirror every morning is his work. Beauty fades and this is why the Lord teaches us humility and to be noble. A loving, kind, helpful person will receive the blessings of the Lord because they are remaining faithful to his word. We can not hide our flaws from the lord in darkness because he sees us there. Instead we might as well just confess our troubles and flaws to the Lord and ask for his guidance so that we may move out of the darkness rather than trying to hide in it. Today I am going to follow my own advice and try to steer away from doing incorrect things that I will catch the jack for later. Peace and Grace be unto you.

Pardon me
Thursday, March 27th, 2008Hmmm, have you ever been in a situation and you are unsure of which way to turn? We all have, but it is during this time that we must seek help. Help from our Lord and Savior, help from our family and friends, just help in any form that help can come in. Well if we need help, why is it that we reject it? Many of us close up when times get hard and attempt to hold everything together on our own. While watching The Passion the other night there was a scene where the devil says no man can hold this burden alone. Never thought I would be quoting the devil but he was wrong because Jesus did hold that burden, in fact he carried the burden of all our sins so that we would not have to carry such a heavy load. How noble of a man to do such a thing, its like saying “here fam, give me all your bricks and I will carry them for you, all I ask is that now that you have a lighter load you act in a more noble way towards other people and you respect our Creator”.
That’s an amazing gift, a gift that has been bestowed upon all of us. So I look to this scripture and it says that we should not look to our own interests, rather the interests of others. You know what it feels like when you are struggling with something, so when you see your fellow human struggling do them a favor and take a brick or two. Don’t do it hoping that you will gain something worldly from it, if anything do it because it has and will continue to be done for you. So do not only ask for help, give help, give help wherever you can. A friend of mine will read this and say, “well Cedric, you don’t ask for help”. My reply is, I know and I am trying, we are all trying to become more perfect beings in our imperfect state. We are a community of brothers and sisters, united under many different shades, let us continue to Help one another for it has already been done for us. Peace and Grace be unto you.
An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.
Pardon me
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does. James 1: 22-25
When I woke up this morning the sun was busting through my blinds, shining down on me. I thought to myself “we should not be afraid to let our sun shine”, in fact we must power up our sun to shine. There will always be obstacles that will attempt to stand in the way of our sun’s beauty but we must not allow these clouds to block our sunlight. Clouds such as loneliness, job related issues, a hard time at school, or any other matters that may affect your view of yourself and also how you allow that view to be promoted.
So the scripture goes hand in hand with the thoughts I had when I first woke up. Don’t just listen to the word, don’t just say you believe in God show the world you believe in God. We show the world this through our actions, by our smile, we show how we believe in God when we persevere through the toughest of times. Only a person of God can be so resilient. We can no longer look in the mirror and see our faults and not look to correct them. Those same flaws will eat us alive, those same flaws do not allow our sun to shine as bright as the Lord has given us the power to let it shine. The last line speaks to all of us, if we can look into Gods law and trust in his word which sets us free from these worldly pains we will be blessed because of our faithful duty to adhere to the Lord’s request. Real rap I don’t necessarily know how to let my sun shine, how to look into that mirror and keep trying to perfect an imperfect being. Yet I believe together we can, as a community loving one another the way the Lord asks us to do I can achieve through you and you can achieve through me because we all give the power to HE, OUR CREATOR. Peace and Grace be unto you!
Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
