Congratulations, words can not express how I feel about this historic moment that we are living in. I pray that through Barack Obama’s leadership we can create a coalition of people who want to help effectuate the change we wish to see in America and around the world. Enjoy his speech, I listened to this speech with such clarity that I feel the need to share it with you so that you can see what I saw, hear what I heard and hopefully we can MAKE IT HAPPEN together!
WOW here is a very touching story courtesy of CNN. We waited so long for today but not nearly as long as this beautiful woman. At the tender age of 106 this beautiful woman had the opportunity to cast her vote for the first black President, hopefully, Barack Obama. (I don’t want to get cocky)
But imagine that, 106 years ago the Niagara Movement had not even occurred which is the precursor to the NAACP. Plessy v. Ferguson was alive and real; separate but unequal was the standard for black citizens. Many referred to African Americans as second class citizens, and some still argue that this treatment exists today.
Imagine living through both World Wars, the Great Depression, The Harlem Renaissance, Civil Rights, the Cold War, Vietnam. How amazing is it that through 106 years this woman has seen much more than many of us will ever see in our lifetime. The highs and lows of this country have right before this woman’s eyes and recently she had the opportunity to cast her vote for who she feels is the best person to lead this country and he just so happens to share the same color of skin. How Remarkable!
Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, is known for it’s great cheesesteaks but we are also known for the beautiful murals that grace the buildings of the city. These murals can take a neighborhood that is beaten down aesthetically, a community whose morale is affected by crime, and poverty and transform that community into a source of hope.
The Obama campaign serving the Latino community asked Michelle Angela Ortiz to create a mural of Obama on 2728 HOPE STREET in Philadelphia.
This mural entitled “Vota mi Gente, Latinos para Obama” (Vote my people, Latinos for Obama) was created in four days and finished on Nov. 1st. She designed and directed the mural and completed it with the help of Dolio Durant, Julia Lopez, Ivan Henderson, Raphael Zapata, John and Andreina, John and Chelsea and all the people in Hope street.
What’s so important to me about this mural is what it represents to minority communities specifically Latino communities. Latino communities are the victims of dis-enfranchisement across the nation, however despite the poor schools that are found in some of these neighborhoods, the crime and drugs that flood these communities, hope lives on. A mural like this breathes hope to the little boy who lives on Hope street, that he too can achieve.
Barack Obama is the product of a broken marriage, mixed heritage, deafening stereotyes, but look what he has done. He achieved; with or without the Presidency this is a man who attended Columbia University, Harvard University and through it all he has given back to those same communities with people who are black and brown and continues to help the people in these neighborhoods.
I thank Michelle Ortiz for her brilliant art, her symbolic message, and her ability to change lives through her work. Please support her work by visiting her website at www.michelleangela.com (more…)

I like this one, Good Job! It’s beautiful to see the younger generation so involved in the politics of today!

It’s a beautiful thing to watch how young children are even involved in this election despite the fact that they can not legally vote. I am sure they are inspiring others, the fact that young children are inspired by Politics is quite amazing. When I was there age, Dan Quayle, Bush and his cronies meant nothing in my life and I am just happy that young students are inspired by what is going on with this election. And this particular clip shows them in a non-partisan way which is even more amazing. Allowing our children to be objective…. You know which chant I’m rooting…… BARACK OBAMA….. YEAH YOU CAN VOTE HOWEVER YOU LIKE!!!!!!!!

Kudos to the person who put this video together. The Obama family will make a beautiful First Family, one more week until we see the change we have been seeking for so long. It’s so beautiful how these two fill the media outlets with such beautiful images of black love. It’s inspiring!
What must it feel like?
To carry the hopes and dreams of an entire race of people on your shoulders?
As much as I hate to say it, I know beyond a doubt that the next four weeks are going to be nasty. He’s leading, and there are people who simply cannot stomach the idea of his beautiful family living in the White House. There will be smears, all sorts of slander and lies, the likes of which you’ve probably rarely seen. So y’all, we got to pray for this man. And please . . make sure you VOTE!!! Vote early if you can!

This video is amazing and it shows the type of inspiration that Barack Obama is giving to young black males across America. The young gentlemen are speaking about Health Care plans and how Obama has inspired them to become more invovled in our society. This is amazing, ofen the news is riddled with young black males committing crimes but here we have young black men educating others about our Future President. Congrts to these young men and the people who have inspired them to believe that they can achieve. YES WE CAN!!!
