Gov. Sarah Palin says “she doesn’t know what the VP does”

Why would John McCain pick a candidate who admittedly does not know much about the position she has been picked for? Might it be that McCain thinks women are that blind to real issues that they will vote for this ticket solely because of gender. I wonder if the mainstream media will pick this up!

Here I go again….
WOW!!!! Are the republican’s that damn desperate?!?!? So now they’re jealous that the dems are making history all over and decided they wanted a piece of the pie? Or do they just think that the jaded Hillary supporters and undecideds are that stupid?
Either way, this was a horrible move for several reasons:
1. NO ONE KNOWS WHO SHE IS! (WHO THE HELL LIVES IN ALASKA???)
2. She has NO EXPERIENCE (isn’t this STILL their main argument for why Obama’s not ready to be President????)
3. Wack attempt to pull the woman vote. I don’t care how many kids you have lady, it’s going to take more than that to win me over.
4. SHE HAS NO FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE!! (another one of their arguments against Obama)
5. She’s already caught up in a scandal…. don’t they have some type of screening process? (PS: her excuse is wack, the former brother in law is in a custody battle with her sister…. RIIIIIGHT)
I mean I could go on, but why bother? So far the republicans are doing a really bad job keeping up with the dems. I can’t wait to see the presidential debate, VP debate, and can we seriously have a 1st Lady debate?!?!?!
Awww things are getting interesting folks!

Being a registered R (likely the only one that reads this blog
), I’m still on the fence with this woman. I follow politics quite a bit but I had no idea who this woman was either.
First, Its important to remember that most Americans vote for the top of the ticket, so its going to be contest between McCain and Obama. The VP picks will blow over in a few days.
My first reaction is that she is a terrible pick and that had McCain wanted to take a woman, there were better women to choose from (ex. kay bailey hutchinson). And that this is just a ploy to get Hillary votes. She inexperienced (what we’ve been on Obama for), too conservative, is going to get crushed by Biden when they debate and has stories of corruption linked to her. And, she looks like Tina Fey!!!
That being said, there is also part of me that thinks this is a game changer and it might actually be a brilliant pick. McCain was losing his base for a while and she brings it back to him.The base votes, and always will vote. Rain or shine. (and while I would like to say that is changing, it did not change for the primary in PA. I am an optimistic person and hope that it will change in November).
And when we speak of women’s issues, its important to remember that not all women are pro-choice and that abortion is not the only women’s issue. There are many women that will vote for McCain for the mere fact that he has a woman on the ticket (call them what you want, but thats what they believe). My mother is a staunch liberal and she was impressed by Palin’s speech (which I wasn’t).
As for Hillary votes, who ever gets them is likely going to win. Before the VP pick, 25% of Hillary supporters were voting for McCain and the rest are undecided. It will be interesting to see how the numbers change.
And I’m with Osay on the first lady debate!!! One of the things that is keeping me on the fence is Michelle Obama! I think she is just SOOOO amazing. This would have been an easier decision for me had she been running for president.
EITHER WAY: No matter who gets elected, we will be breaking barriers, race or gender, in the United States for the first time.
