So I spoke to my mother this morning and she said 25, you’re getting old, you ain’t my little boy no more. Well mom today is my birthday and I may be a man, however I still need you and Dad to keep me on your insurance…. hahaha Good morning, afternoon, hello I am so thankful to see this birthday, you really just don’t know. As my birthday had been approaching I was thinking about how I wanted to bring it in. I was curious as to what this year would bring and more importantly what I would allow it to bring. In order to receive whatever greatness God has for me, mentally I had to be on the right page. I could have brought it in in the club, so bent that I would not be able to wake up for my conference call this morning. I could have let 12am catch me doing a million things but instead I decided to take a shower. Taking a shower was symbolic for me, I was immersing myself in the water and starting anew.
While reflecting on the past few years I learned that at 23 I was arrogant, I had just graduated from college and thought I knew it all. So you know what happens when you get too cocky, you get smacked up a bit, life throws you some curve balls that you clearly weren’t ready for. Sometimes there’s no umpire there to yell “hit by a pitch” so you lay there, beat up. But it was a good look because it taught me that you can’t live in this world alone and you need to have a relationship with GOD and move along humbly on your path. At 24 I found a new Ced, a more humble Ced. I just feel there was a lot of growth last year. I found myself doing things because I wanted to do it, not because of someone else or what I could get in return but just because I wanted to.
One of my favorite Malcolm X speeches finds him telling the people that any religion that tells you to love your neighbor is a wolf trying to make you their sheep. Jesus told us to love our enemies and I understand it more now. Love is a gift, when you can love someone despite the pain or hurt that they may cause you, you are on your way to finding inner peace. Why be bothered producing wasteless energy to hate, to be angry and have your face all scrunched up when you can kindly smile and have peace within yourself. So arrogant at 23, humble at 24, at 25 I feel like this is my time. Here is my time for peace, to find joy in little or big things, internal happiness is the best gift any of us can receive. And as I buried a friend who never even got to live her 23 yesterday, it just lets me know that while we are here on this earth we have an obligation to God and ourselves to be the best person we can be, to shoot for our dreams and together we can achieve. Peace and Grace be unto you!

I want a leader not someone whose party wants to cry foul when the media properly vets her unlike what John McCain has done.
If there is a person who supports ABSTINENCE ONLY EDUCATION then i would hope that she promotes that same information in her own home. Abstinence only, well what does that do to all of the teenagers who are having sex, what does that do to lower the std rate in this country when you are not educating teenages about safe sex.
WHAT WE NEED IS NOT MCCAIN/PALIN WE NEED REAL LEADERSHIP AND NOT JUST A GIMMICK TO GAIN WOMEN VOTERS!

Blender Magazine Calls 2PAC The Most over-rated Musician Ever
While we are all entitled to our own opinions who ever wrote this nonsense should get their Hip-Hop Card revoked. Blender Magazine is known for saying stupid stuff but this has to take the cake. If you do not like 2PAC or his music, that is one thing but to disrespect his honor, his legacy, the type of heartfelt music and lyrics that he brought to the game. To neglect all of that and to call his the most over-rated musician just shows the lack of understanding that people have with respect to Hip-Hop and artists who truly have made a difference in the game as we know it!
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Dead rapper Tupac “2Pac” Shakur, the hip-hop icon who sold more records after he was murdered than during his brief career, is the most overrated person in music, according to music magazine Blender.
Shakur tops a tongue-in-cheek list that also includes “places, trends and other junk in rock,” Blender said in its upcoming October issue, due on newsstands next week.
Other overrated finalists included theGrammys at No. 7, encores at No. 12, Pink Floyd at No. 14 and “the music you loved as a teenager” at No. 23.
Shakur, a “gangsta” rapper who showed his sensitive side in movies, was killed during an unsolved drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996. More than a dozen albums have been released in the ensuing years, and his image is almost as ubiquitous as that ofChe Guevara or Bob Marley.
But while Shakur was a decent rapper with “insane rock-star charisma,” according to Blender, he also “larded records with self-mythologizing, mediocre filler.”
It’s not the first time the pages of Blender have been used to bring down Shakur a few notches. In its June issue, rapper Lil Wayne listed him among his top five rappers, but then admitted: “I can’t front: I was never into Pac.”
As for the Grammys, the music industry’s top awards, Blender said sitting through the ceremony was “like watching paint dry on Celine Dion’s forehead.”
And encores were notable chiefly for allowing bands to go backstage and do drugs while fans wonder if they should beat the rush to the parking lot, Blender said.
Veteran British rock band Pink Floyd, meanwhile, were responsible for “unbearable LSD slapstick” and “self-important bombast.” And Blender warned that teenagers’ brains “can inflate a great band to Christ-size proportions” and turn a bad song into the most meaningful.

Good afternoon, the above scripture was placed in the obituary of Irene so I figured I would share it with you. Thank you to those who sent their condolences and through those messages I read two things that I think fit the young lady perfectly. One person said ”she was too good for earth and God needed her for someting far greater!” while someone else said that something to the effect that god had given us a new angel to watch over us”. Both of these statements were true and I think it’s those types of words that families need to hear while they mourn over a loved on.
I sat in the funeral today cracking up in my mind. I refused to let the sad songs, and just the sorrow of it all bring me down to the ground. I won’t front it almost did as the man sang his song about God coming to take her home, I mean she was so young, only 23. But what kept me smiling and kept me laughing was her sense of humor. Like if she was right next to me at the funeral. She would be poised, sad, but she’d have a joke here, a laugh there, and by the time we got outside she would be complaining about how hot it was. So I liked the scripture that they used, I liked the message that they gave. None of us know what awaits us after we leave here but just in case there is a hell we need to get right with god.
